if you join the dive team in high school do they teach you how to dive?

Help MEE!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Well, tryouts are kind of the determining factor. I mean, on our swim team, you don't need to know how to dive, you just have to be willing. Most of our divers hate swimming, the most they swim is from get out of the water. They don't expect you to know how to do 1 1/2 inwards right off that bat, of course they'll teach you somethings. talk to your coach though, im guessing you just have to be willing to do what the coach asks you to do.

Best way to rinse of my wetsuit at home?

I know on my dive team you basically just need to know how to swim.

Why does my neck hurt when I swim backstroke?

You need to be able to tread water for 5 minutes, be proficient at swimming, and at least know how to dive off the side.

Can anyone give me some breath hold exercises to do, or a link, so I can do some free diving on vacation?

it depends, ask the coach before you sign up. you should atleast be able to tred for a little while, be ABLE to swim, and do a basic dive off the side of pool. good luck

Can you swim 2 miles ?

I was on my high school's diving team last season and they taught me. I had been a gymnast for twelve years, so I had some idea, but the swim coach had videos for me to watch and the dive coach taught me the approach, along with a few dives. I ended up joining club diving and I'm not doing it anymore, but I would definitely try it.

Have fun!

What do you think is more relaxing, swimming or walking on a beach?

if you voluntarily join the dive team they will teach you how to dive...if you got the guts go for it!! as long as you can tread water you won't have a problem.

alot of people on a dive team can "swim" as well but that hardly makes a difference now does it?

I get head ache while i swim?

A good diving team with the proper coaches will teach you how to dive from a diving board. All you really need is the physical ability to dive and also the confidence to do it. From there it's just a matter of learning new things and also trial-and-error. Diving can be a very frustrating sport at times but once you get the hang of it it'll be enjoyable and you'll learn a lot from it.

I want to join the swim team.?

It depends on the school and the coach. Every year of my high school swim team, I had a different coach. The first year, everyone swam a normal practice and the coach watched and never taught anything, then he made cuts. Next year, it was the same thing only there weren't enough girls so the ones who took longer to catch on were taught later in the year. The last year, we were definitely short on girls so the coach took everyone and taught them how to do everything. So like I said, it depends on the coach and the size of the team but it would definitely help to be familiar about what you're doing.

Our above ground pool is caved in about 3 feet across, what do we do?

if you take lessons you will be able to compete faster. On my team you had to know at least 6 dives. but if you dont know how then they show you and train you. So i would start practicing
