What are some characteristics of Michael Phelps that you find sort of "heroic"?

He came to my school, and he's pretty dumb. I also heard from my sister's friends brother, who'd one of Phelps' good friends (I live in Baltimore) that he would go out and get drunk fairly frequently. I did think that it was very nice of him to let Ian Crocker swim in the relay, and obviously he has worked very hard to be such a great swimmer. But he hasn't done much for charities, as far as I know. I do know that he used some of his winnings to buy an SUV with the spinny wheels, whatever they're called. So I think that he has some good qualities, but is overall an idiot and not a great rolemodel for kids.

he wins medals for the US. thats all that needs to be done to sweep things like drunk driving under the rug.

a # of olympic athletes/professional athletes will be able to get away with things regualr people like u or i would not be able to. and when they do good like in a championship or medal...it gets overglorified.

I think all he had to do was go to some schools and talk about drunk driving and stuff. i don't know if he gave to any charities. He also works with kids who want to become swimmers. I think he's pretty hot. oh, and he gave Ian Crocker the chance to take his spot in the men's relay which won ian a gold medal in the olympics. i think thats pretty heroic.
