In the 100m i get at least 12 seconds is that good for a 12 yr old?
most deffinately butterfly, it works all of your upper body including abs!!!!butterfly.. but if you can't do that swim freestyle with high elbow recovery and finger drag. and try to do it with a pull bouy.
You can isolate and build your shoulders during any of the strokes. Try using a pull-buoy or crossing your ankles so you're just using your arms. To me, this is hardest with backstroke because your legs help with your balance, but using just your arms on any of the strokes on your stomach would be a good starting point.

What's an excuse to shave your legs if you are on a track team?
flybutterfly, definitely. works your shoulders, pecs, triceps, abs and a whole lot of back muscles whose names i don't even know!
it's a very taxing stroke though, so i recommend you do plenty of butterfly drills and complement it with freestyle laps. use paddles, if you can. then, for the meat of your workout, do timed laps, alternating butterlfy and freestyle.
