What is the point of wearing a waterpolo swim cap, or other loose fitting cap?
Chlorine gets into all tight swim caps, let alone one of these loose fitting ones. So I was wonder, what is the point of wearing one?

What are the major muscles used in freestyle swimming?
Swim caps were designed to reduce drag in the water to improve speeds when lap racing and to keep you hair out of your face when playing water polo or any other water sports. They shouldn't be worn loose tho! They should be snug, not tight, to keep from moving around on your head! Good luck with which ever sport your in!swim caps are meant for less drag and so u don't get ur hair in your face
water polo caps are so your ears are protected and so somebody doesn't come from behind u and slap u on the ear
Well the point of wearing a tighter fitting cap is to reduce the drag your body creates. When you don't wear a cap your hair acts as a very small barier against the water. It will not make much difference to your swimming wether you wear a cap of not but it could change almost a second on your time, so for many swimmers this is a very important part of their uniform. Loose caps can also be good, but again they can increase drag.
so that the hair does not get in your face and it helps a lot
When your running how do you breathe ?
well the ones for water polo, reduce drag, anddddd make it so that you have a number, you know like on a basketball jersey. its so the other team can identify you ("go gaurd number 12").[=
Well, by your question I can tell you don't swim competitively. For girls, you can't go full speed with long hair sticking to you from chlorine and swinging in your face. The cap gets it out of the way. The suits and caps and goggles people wear when swimming competitively all have one purpose. Reduce drag to make the swimmer go faster. Water flows right over and around caps but it flows through hair which slows a swimmer down. This is why many guys wear caps also. Some guys shave bald and choose not to wear a cap but many bald guys wear one anyway because they produce even less drag than a bald head.
