How do swimmers train?
Swimmers have the most toned bodies. What is their training routine like throughout the year? And are they constantly swimming or do they switch through with exercises like running and cycling, and mix in weight training? Is there a website that will show the workout for competitive swimmers, such as Michael Phelps?

Swimming is a good work out for what?
People spy on guys like Michael Phelps to try and find out how he trains. But if you want a toned body like a swimmer. you gotta do laps like a swimmer. all year long. That's the bad news for those who don't want to be swimming champions but still want to look like one.
As hard as we might try, not many of us will ever swim like Michael Phelps... so it will be impossible to copy his routine. You have to develop your own.
Michael Phelps will constantly battle lean muscle depletion caused by all the training he has to do to be able to go that hard for that long. He must have a really amazing aerobic capacity. Obviously he does weight training to try and combat muscle depletion... otherwise he would look like Mark Spitz used to look (in the days when weight training was considered bad for your swimming style) ~ that is, Mr Spitz was weedy by comparison but perhaps looked better with his bushy moustache). Not much fat on either of them eh? And what world record last night. Perfect 200 metres freestyle in what appears to be a choppy swimming pool. Congratulations Mr Phelps.
How long would it take to swim 50 laps in a 25m pool?
weights and swimmingWhat do you do whrn you go home?
All swimmers have different workout routines but generally they do about 80% of their workout in the pool and about 20% outside for serious swimmers. That 20% of the time could be spent running, cycling, lifting weights or doing other workouts that don't include anything with the pool.Swimming also works the whole body which is why so many swimmers appear to have totally toned bodies. With all muscles getting a workout results are seen all around.
All swimmers train a bit differently, but the majority is swimming. A lot of swimming. Michael Phelps doesn't cross train at all in fear of an injury. Here's an article on Phelps' training schedule as of 2004.

How do you define the behaviour as a "gay hint" or "frendly performance" ?
I mostly do loadss of laps but I also have a weaker kick than pull so I do a lot of running and weights exercises for my legs. Bicycling is good too. Stretch cords and jump ropes are definitely the best answer; my coach requires us to have them and they are amazing.good luck.
