How do people who swim stay afloat in deep waters?
i've been learning how to swim by myself, and im doing well so far, because i can swim across deep parts and not drown (lol). what im wondering is, i see a lot of people go to deep ends and just stay there...how do they not drown? I'm sure they are doing something with their legs but i can't see, i only see their bodies and necks and arms but they aren't really doing anything with it. thanks!

Kick the legs slowly and move the arms in a figure 8 motion. You can float it you keep your lungs inflated. As you exhale quickly, breath in before you sink. Do this repeatedly.
Body fat floats more too.

it is possible to float without swimming at all.over here in holland, we actually teach children to float before we teach them to swim.
you ccan try this in the undeep first:
just lay on your back in the water, arms stretched out wide, and breathe in deeply. (keep your head i the water up to your ears). youll find that youll just float there.
once youve mastered that, you can try the same turned upwards, in deeper water, you can just move your arms and legs about to stay upright, (swimming upright)
