I need to be able to swim 50meters in 54seconds!?
I can swim to save myself but not in a race, so to swim 50meters in 54seconds for a 'very' average swimmer hard? and like i have been training in a 25meter pool but my trial is in a 50meter pool, will that effect me and the time? Thanks

For a competitive swimmer the 25 metre pool could make your 50m time ever so slightly slightly faster. For an average swimmer, there is the distinct possibility that the turn will slow you down.If your time for two laps in a 25m pool is below 54 seconds then you should do OK. Haven't you timed yourself yet during training?
Oh, yes, I see a lot of people that can't swim well get into a race situation and go out too hard and then get exhausted because of it.
Try to relax and time yourself for 2 laps of the 25m pool... then if all is OK, you know how hard you have to go to meet your goal. When practicing, try to glide with every stroke, count your strokes and try to reduce the number of them per lap, and make sure you keep kicking throughout... you'll be down below 50 seconds in no time.
After you swim you gain weight?
Look-50 meters in 54 seconds-it's 100 meters in 1 min and 48 seconds. But it if to consider 1:1. In a reality the time will be still large, because will work the factor of weariness. For the prepared swimmer to float 50 meters for 54 seconds - times to spit - he for this time will float 100 meters. For the swimmer of an average level of preparation - 100 meters за1 minute 48 seconds to float too will not make the large work. To reach an average level of preparation, I would advise you to visit pool and to take some lessons on engineering of navigation (free style, for example) .Then after several months of employment you will achieve desirable. P.s.Before I was the five-fighter.How do you stay at the bottom of a pool without floating up?
That really shouldn't be too hard, for a meter-to-yard ratio that'd be about 66:72, or 33:36, or 11:12 so if an average 50 yard time is about 40 seconds that'd put you at about 44 seconds and change.Simply put: you should do OK.
Why would somebody use baby oil before swimming?
If you're practicing in a 25 meter pool and you'll be swimming in a 50 meter pool, you should be faster in the actual race than practicing because you won't have to do a flip turn.By the way, a 54 should be pretty easy if you can swim without drowning too bad, ha. For competitive swimmers in the 50 yard free a time lower than a 28 or so is expected, but i don't swim in a meter pool. However, meters are only somewhat bigger than yards so a 54 should be way easy.
it will affect your time, but most likely in a positive way, or it could be negative, it depends on how you use the wall. if you have really good flip turns then a 25 meter pool might be better, but if your flip turns are slow, you will do better in a 50 meter pool. 54 seconds isnt really that hard, and if it is for you, and your saying you are average, you are dissing most other swimmers. the only way you can get better is by practicing, and if you notice spots where you are bad at, ask another question, and you will get some tips on how to help it. good luck!
How do I stop my swimming goggles from fogging up?
no that is not hard at all for a very average swimmer. it will not matter that you trained in a 25 meter pool except in the 50 meter pool you wont have to turn aroundWhat is more compressible? Nitrox or breathing gas?
Nope. you don't have to do flip turns... so you will be fine. but i would go to a long course(50meters) pool to get used to it..it feels weird at first.Good luck!
Is swimming in water the same as any other liquid?
i suggest working on your strokes. if you've been training for a long time now, it might be a good idea to have a different person look at your strokes. 54 seconds would be easy pickings for an average swimmer as long as the strokes are correct.try swimming with a paddle too. that way you build strength and endurance and get a better feel of the water as well.
25-50-meter pool transition won't be a problem.
