Why wouldn't the lifeguard let me wear my tanktop to the pool!?!?!?!?

What harm could it cause, he stopped me in front of everyone which was embarassing!! I'm a guy though, but still!! I think it's more damaging to show my fat to everyone, but he told me I had to take it off before I could get into the pool?!?

Pool Rules usually don't allow you to wear anything but authorized swimwear (i.e. no cutoff shorts, tanktops, hats, etc.) in the water. It's typically related to the material and fabric fiber content of stuff that is not allowed. A cotton T-shirt or tanktop made from Cotton would have a high fiber content that doesn't shed the water well (picture a good-looking girl in a wet T-shirt) as it becomes see-through and very heavy as it is stretches from being overloaded with water. Your Tanktop was probably cotton. Cotton shirts also tend to have those little threads hanging off the seams which fall off and will end up in the filter. Over time, that material will literally fall apart and also get stuck in the pool's filter, accumulating into a big mess which clogs the pool filter and shuts the pump down. If he stopped you before going in the water, you probably didn't read the Pool Rules sign posted somewhere in or around the pool area. Also, I take it this was an indoor pool, since I've known some outdoor pools which quite often would allow you to wear a T-shirt early in the season, if you say you don't want to get sunburnt.

What is Shabbona's park poool schedule(chicago Il 60634)?

Best athelete in this league?

was this an indoor or outdoor pool? Either way, he shouldn't have embarrassed you. I know I've heard that rule before, but I've also known people wearing shirts so they don't get burned. I know at my pool we ask swimmers not to wear t-shirts because it interferes with your stroke performance, but that's for swim team. I don't know the rules where you were, but I think you're more upset about how the situation was handled. All lifeguards have a manager or supervisor to report to. You might talk to them about pool policy, and let them know that you want to be spoken to in a respectable way next time. Don't cause a stink, the summer is just starting and you don't want trouble the next three months. Handle it nicely and respectfully and you'll be surprised with the outcome- hopefully.:)

Baithing Suits??

i am a lifeguard and it considered a hazard to you and to other ppl around you he should have done the same for ppl who wear t-shirts. He/she was just doing their job.
