Synchronised or competitive swimming?
I've decided to join my school's swim team. but i'm not sure which to join... i've never learnt ballet or anything like that so i cant do flips, stretches and the technical stuff in synchro. how long does it take to learn all of that stuff? and...does swimming really give you huge arms and shoulders?

I read that I should eat within 20mins after exercising, what should I eat to get protein and carb?
haha, cutelittlekitty's right, i've scraped my face and legs while doing a few laps. :Pswimming does give you broader shoulders and stronger arms, since the majority of strokes involve some sort of arm and upper body workout. but it helps tone the WHOLE body as well. it's one of the best full body workouts you could get from a sports activity.
and deciding between synchronized and competitive is all on personal preference.
Should I really wait 1 hour after eatting to swim?
synchronised swimming might be a little harder cause u have to have a lot of upper and lower body strenght to force ur self out of the water and competitve swimming will more likely get u broad shoulders trust me i have been swimming and i have broad shoulders but its not a big deal...well i hope this helpsSCUBA Certification question.?
if it were me, i would choose synchronized swimming. it seems like fun!i did competative swimming for my high school for one season. it is fun but it takes a while to learn the strokes right. it really gets you in shape too and it is very low contact. the most contact youll have to worry about is accidentaly hitting a wall when flip turning so as long as you dont do that youll be fine haha! :)
and yes, swimming tones your arms but only those who swim alot and for a long time have the huge shoulders and arms.
Does anyone know where i can buy the Burkini from in England?
OMG synchronized swimming is totally annoying. It was rumored that they were thinking of taking it out of the Olympics after 1996. Unfortunately it's still around. Join the swim team. As far as getting big shoulders and arms, everything that has already been said is true. If you do it a lot you might get broader shoulders. Synchro also requires a lot of breath control. Many of the moves they perform are executed underwater. A dance background would be helpful with synchro but it isn't the least bit necessary with competitive swimming. Good luck!!I can't get rid of the slick, slimey feel in my above ground swimming pool.?
swimming does not give you huge arms and shoulders. it broadens the shoulders and tones the arms.i would suggest that you join COMPETITIVE SWIMMING! as it easy and really, REALLY, fun. flips are easy to learn and you can learn them in a day. it fun, easy, and you get to meet new friends during competition.
