Do you think i can pass my lifeguard pool test?
You have to swim 20 laps. i consider myself to be very athletic i run every day and i play college soccer. However, I have not swam in a very long time. I'm think i can do it because there is no time limit and you can do any stroke you want. Class starts monday. do you think I can do it? I should practice the laps but due to soccer and the pool hours i can't make it.

Why do boys bathing suits have mesh inside?
Yes, the important thing is to remember that there IS no time limit, so you don't have to start out in a rush - that's the mistake that so many people make, and they get tired before they even hit 5 laps. Don't fall under the temptation when you see others rushing, just remind yourself that you'll finish and still be able to breathe!Second, vary your strokes. It makes it easier to count. If you can do two laps for each stroke (back crawl, freestyle/front crawl, sidestroke, elementary backstroke, and breaststroke), you can do two rounds and you'll be finished! And you'll know, if you peter out on the front or back crawl, you can always substitute one of the other three until you catch your breath again.
You can do it! Just remember to take your time - it's not a race, so you'll pass as long as you find a way to keep going! (and it's really not as bad as everyone makes it out to be!)
How can I become a good swimmer?
no If you are a good swimmer yeahyeah, you can do it!
it helps if you trail directly behind someone. because of water flow, there is a natural pull on you if you're behind someone. dont touch other's feet, or they will get mad at ya.
if you get tired, then do some backstroke or just swim underwater. if there isnt a time limit, then it'll be so easy.
good luck! (although i doubt you'll need it)
Does Swimming work Ab Muscles?
YEAH! My friend doesn't swim at all and he did it for a lifeguard test. He was athletic so if you are, you can do it too. It might take you a while, like it did him (10+ mins), but Im sure you will do fine.Silly question - where can I get a swimming costume (all in one)?
It really depends on how well you can swim. When I took my life guarding class last year, there was this super buff guy who looked like he went to the gym everyday but when it came to swimming the 500, he just couldn't do it.The thing about swimming is that you can be the most athletic person in the world and not be in shape for swimming because the only way you can get better in swimming is by swimming.
I would definitely recommend that you practice no matter what because it would be a shame if your class money went to waste just because you couldn't pass your swim test. Try to go to a gym with a pool that's open 24/7 and if you're not a member, most gyms let visitors work out for a certain fee.
Good luck with life guarding and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
Who is/was the first person to swim around the world?
Of course you can. But let me give you some suggestions. First of all, you could at least try swimming a little bit to see if you still need some more practice with it. Second of all, you need to give yourself some courage. Try to look on the "good side of things."Where is the best shore diving?
my wife can't swim tosave her life (ok, yeah she can) but is very athletic. she does the Ski To Sea road bikeing and is very good at it. shae haden't swam for 3years, not counting a week ago, and she swam 40 laps, and she is 30. if she can, i bet youcan too.tips.
1 if there ate multiple people in the lane, stay right behind one person so they pushthe water. it helps.
2 if you are going to do the crawl stroke, breath every 3 strokes (left right left, right left right ...)
good luck :) ;)
How to get sand out of a wetsuit, sand is like embedded into my wetsuit, how do i get it out?
running and soccer won't help you with swimming, it's a different enviorment plus you've got to hold your breath.it would be a good idea to practice some before, if you can't pace yourself don't go all out to show off because you'll burn yourself out and you might not finish
