Is holding your breath dangerous? Just with O2 CO2 tables, not underwater?

I want to be able to hold my breath for somewhat long periods of time so i am doing O2 and CO2 talbes, is this dangerous for me. Im only holding for 45 seconds and then resting for smaller and smaller periods of time and repeat that 4 times.

Scuba Diving History/Timeline?

Yes. It increases blood pressure and the strain on your cardiovascular system. It also keeps a harmful gas (carbon dioxide) in your system longer than it should. And what you are doing, resting for shorter and shorter periods, could lead to a blackout. A blackout could result in a physical injury from a fall. Some brain damage, although likely minor, could also result from holding your breath or from a fall.
