Am I too old for a swim team? Is there any such thing as a swim team for old people?

Question:I'm 22 and I feel when I go to the Y I am too old for anything they have. Is there no more swim teams after you become old? Because I'm just learning how to swim now..

What do u girls think about male's swimming in a girls one piece?

It's called the United States Masters Swimming, and it's for swimmers aged nineteen and up. Groups are everywhere, you just need to know where to look. Try http://www.usms.org/ to find a team near you.

U.S.M.S. can be as competitive or as relaxed as you wish. Meets are held, but you don't have to go if you don't want to. Good luck!

P.S. My swim coach is about your age and he competes with Masters (he coaches for them too). I've heard nothing but good things about it from him.

Does lifeguarding put you/keep you in shape and give you a hot body?

No, you're not. Look for a Masters Swim Club in your area. They are for older people that would like to either get in shape, or just to get some exercise, or training for triathlons. I myself, will probably join one of these soon as I was a competitive swimmer for 12 years when I was a kid. I kind of miss the atmosphere. Great exercise too! Check out the link.

How often do u hear of a new life guard getting a tip??

22 is NOT too old! There are masters swim programs in many facilities. There are 90 years olds that swim, so the masters start at 19 y.o. and go to however old you want to be!

How have swimming suits helped break olympic records?

yea well 22 doesnt sound too old, but if there arent any swim teams or classes for your age group, you might have to join an older or younger one. ive heard of masters swim team... but i dont know how old you have to be for that. go to your swim place and ask about a class or team for your age group. once your signed up, go out and buy a speedo brief, some goggles, maybe a cap and your good to go.
