What is your favorite sport, and why?
it depends on what strokes you do. if you're a butterflier you're going to want to work your shoulder/back muscles and your abdomen. if you're a freestyler/backstroker worrk your arm muscels and your leg muscles. if you're a breaststroker work all of the muscles listed above. running also helps work your legs, but doesn't do much for your arms. chin ups/pullups, and a lat pull down are realy good for your arms and your shoulder muscles.all the muscles.

Legs and Lungs, for sure.Your lungs aren't a muscle, but I would work on your cardio - it is the biggest factor in a sport like swimming.
In terms of your legs, I would do lots of flutter kicking exercies, and then after that I would work on your core (abs, obliques, and lower backs).

Shoulders and Thighs. Your shoulders are what is going to pull you through the water and your thighs are going to push you through it. Try doing lat pull downs and dumbbell lifts for the shoulders and Squats and Leg press for the QuadsDoes anybody else like going swimming?

Honestly, swimming is a sport in which nearly all muscles are used. If I had to pick a few to concentrate on, first I'd say the thighs (glutes). They're some of the biggest muscles and will enhance your kicking. Back muscles are extremely important as are shoulders. Chest is somewhat important. Biceps is what will help you least.I agree with deltoids & thighs.
You should work on your back if you're a butterfly-er.
You should not weight train intensively, do long reps and get really tonned. If you look at professional swimmers they dont have massive muscles, they are just very toned. The best muscles to tone are your shoulders, pecks and back. Dont really worry about biceps.
