My disabled daughter has been turned down for swimming lessons?
In a properly maintained pool with free chlorine levels of 3-5ppm this will actually help clear up your acne. It works by the chlorine absorbing into your skin and killing the bacteria that cause acne. Prolonged exposure to the water is needed though (along the lines of 5+ hours of constantly being in the pool with your skin saturated). That said, for the most part it will do nothing to acne because many pools fail to maintain a higher level of chlorine for whatever reason.
I have an 18ft by 52 deep intex pool soft sided. Is there a heater I can buy for this pool?
absolutely nothing your skin definitely dries out but your acne is not effected sorryIs it hard to get certified to be a life guard?
I've seen different people have different reactions regarding their acne and the pool water. For me it seemed to dry them out but not necessarily completely eliminate them. I've also seen other people who will look like they've been stung by a swarm of bees the day after swimming from all the pimples they get (or they may just be hives or some bad chemical levels in a poorly maintained pool). All said, pool water is actually supposed to dry out your acne, that's what it normally does. But otherwise it shouldn't increase the presence of acne because the chemicals don't clog your skin's pores.
The times I've gone swimming in pool water the clorine seemed to help my skin. It may dry you out somewhat but it can't make the acne any worse. It would probably help clean out your pores.
What does a captian of a swim team really do?
It all depends on the person. I have seen different reactions on different people. It helps most people, probably by helping clean the skin which leads to healing and it also tends to dry out oily skin which helps keep the pores clear. It also tends to kill most bacteria which can cause infections.Other people, however, have sensitive skin and the pool chemicals can irritate their skin, thereby causing more inflammation.
Generally, swimming in a pool helps the skin. On the outside by cleaning the skin of excess oils and then on the inside by increasing blood flow through exercise. The increased blood flow helps the skin heal from the inside.
