It is an unfamiliar feeling in an already tense situation which increases the adrenaline and causes you to go faster.If you're asking how they shave so cleanly (as in no nicks or cuts), two answers: Chlorine and Condition. Chlorine because hair is weakened from being constantly introduced to chlorinated water, causing it to be brittle and thin. Condition because everyone knows that soaking any hair in condition for a few minutes before you shave makes it softer and less prone to ingrown hairs. ;)

well I shave my armpits and bikini line because it's kind of gross if I don't and I'm wearing a bathing suit every day.After our winter training trip, the girls stop shaving their legs to create a little bit of drag, and then so when we shave for our conference championships we feel smooth and faster in the water.
