How do I stop people from inviting themselves over to swim in my pool?

I have a 20 by 40 inground pool that is very nice. Lots of hard work, back yard looks like a park. People are always asking me to come over and go swiming, lots of times they will just come over without calling and come into the back yard, right through the privacy fench gate with their swimsuits on and stand over me and my family and start talking to us while we are swiming with the hopes that we will ask them to jump in the pool. sometimes they will just ask to swim when they show up. It really puts me on the spot and makes me feel bad to tell them no. Doesn't anyone have any tact anymore?

Do your freedive when snorkeling?

I assume you want to do this without offending anyone?

Start by putting locks on some of your doors and gates, so that people can't come into your home and pool area without your knowledge and permission. Tell people this is "for insurance reasons."

Then start having frequent "open pool" hours ... maybe 2 hours each, once or twice a week. If people come over at other times, tell them "I'm sorry, but you've come at a bad time. I hope you'll call first next time. Or come to the open pool party!"

Then you start gradually cutting down the frequency of the open pool hours until you reach a level you're happy with. It may take a year to run this complete cycle. This will teach you to not let people get into the habit of visiting unannounced in the first place.

What is the easiest and cheapest and subtle way to ruin a pool for the rest of the summer?

put up no trespassing signs. then put up no swimming signs. tell people you don't want lawsuits b/c you are held liable when people are in your pool. sometimes you just have to say no.

Where can I find a list of public swimming pools that have programs for the handicap?

I guess its your neighbors. so people you know.
Of course you could build a big wall, so nobody can enter.
Then they will get pissed at you, since you dont want to share your pool. I see your problem. No good solution there.
PRoblem was created when the pool and backyard was build, cuz you were not thinking in this would happen. Now its hard to get out of this.
You know those people better then us, maybe a honest but hard word with them would do it.
I would not feel good in my pool, when people from the street could just walk in or stare inside my privacy area.

Where is the best place to go Scuba Diving in Saudi Arabia?

It seems like all people think about is themselves these days. You can put up a sign that says not excepting guests, or tell everyone on these days it is family day. I get the feeling that you do not want to hurt others feelings. However they are not taking yours or your families feelings into consideration. Your true Friends will understand that you & yours want time with out the rest of the world. Good Luck

What is the name of the web-site to learn how to swim?

Here's my advice:

If people call on the phone and ask, tell them, "No, I'm sorry, that's just really not a good time for us."

If they ask "When?" Tell them, "I really can't say at the moment."

If they make a habit of showing up, you need a lock on the gate to your privacy fence.

Do not answer if they knock.

What they are doing is very rude, selfish and inconsiderate.

Don't let them treat you that way. You are so concerned about their feelings, why have they NO concern for yours?

I need help PZL?

That is ridiculous. And no, it seems as though those people have no tact at all. How rude! I would start off by installing a lock on the gate and make sure it's closed at all times. This will stop them from coming in directly. Maybe let them know that certain days are 'family swimming days' only, you want to spend some time with your family without the whole neighbourhood being there to join in. Maybe you can try to drop hints about how it bothers you, saying 'it's a lot of hard work, having a swimming pool' or 'you, too many people in the pool is not really my favorite thing' or 'my family feels like this is a water park, maybe we should tone it down a bit'. Or if worse comes to worse, you can always put up a sign (pretend that it's a joke maybe) that states the prices of admission. Hopefully people will start toget some of the hints that you drop. You're right to be careful though, people have lost friends over things like this, though for them to put you on the spot like that is completely unacceptable.
I guess dropping hints and family swim days are the two things that I can think of, though I feel your pain. Good Luck and don't be afraid to strengthen the 'hints' if no one gets the picture!

Guard dogs.

Better yet, put up a sign: "Closed for repairs" or "Caution! Live Wire - Risk of Electrocution" or "trespassers will be shot"

To be honest, You may have to be a little gruff. If need be, call the cops on a trespasser. It might not be easy, but you will get your pool back.

H20 resistant watch?

Just tell them that you would appreciate a call first. Let them know that it bothers you because this is time that you would like to spend some quality time with your family. Be firm, but be polite. You may also consider scheduling a day that you and your family can agree on to have friends over to enjoy your playground. A lot less feelings will be hurt this way..

Wearing boxers while swimming?

The best way to do this is to actually shock them. Have you and you wife skinny dip, this will probably make them feel embarrassed for barging in on you and will prevent them form doing so. Thou if you can’t do that show up at their door with a plate and knife and fork and ask what’s for dinner

What is the best underwater camera on the market for the purpose of filming underwater technique of swimmers f

well, there are many choices... if u don't want to be direct with them, u can just hint at it. for example, u could put signs saying "trespassing is probhibited and that there are security alarms". u could also like make up excuses (like the water is not up to the right pH for swimming or there's too much chlorine in the water). but those reasons might not be enough. the best thing to do is be direct with them. explain to them that, although u don't mind them swimming in your pool, u would prefer for them to ask to swim, since it is YOUR pool. and if they really want to swim, just tell them to ask you.. not beat around the bush about it. and don't feel bad at saying no.. because if u say yes to everyone they're going to continue to use your pool like it's a community park pool. if u explain to them why your doing this, they understand your view point on this situation. and they might not be so insistent on wanting to use your swimming pool.

You have to mess with the chlorine level one of these days, make it so high that when they get in the pool they itch and burn for days.. that will show them

or just build a taller fence

When using chlorine as the disinfectant in a public pool, the tital chlorine levels should remain between ?

sry 2 hear that. i would get every one who wants to go swimming in ur pool to sign there name on a piece of paper and tell them that u will slit it up when they where aloud to go swimming in ur pool.just pick about groups of 10-15 and have little 'party' like things. let people over and let them swim. tell them that they half to bring something to eat and share and have a great time.u could have them at any time or day. just check the weather and tell them to come over. if they cant make it tell them to come to their groups next party. u can swith it up to. just tell them a day and they could pick who would be in there group. and make a certain day for each group. u can make days where u can just invite people or just have ur relitives come over. or maybe just ur family. it is ur pool make it organized.

Would waterpolo gain in quality if fins were introduced?

A realistic approach...simply just say "no" and explain that you are liable if anyone gets hurt. Refer them to a community center pool or the YMCA. You got your pool for your own PRIVATE enjoyment! Put a lock on the fence and a "no treaspassing sign". If they enter without your permission, warn them next time, you'll call the police. Explain that's it's for their own safety not because you want to be a mean person. If you do want to allow certain neighbors, have them (if under 18, have a parent) sign a waiver that if they get hurt, you are not liable. You'll be amazed how quickly parents will sue if their child gets hurt in YOUR pool!
