The fit of your contacts will determine if your contact lenses fall out or not. More likely than not, they should fall out if you open your eyes completely underwater. If you have the "breathable", soft or disposable lenses, its not really a good idea to open your eyes with contacts on in chlorinated water. The lenses will absorb the minerals/chlorine in the water and it will be stuck in your lenses. Although, small traces of chlorine are not harmful to the eyes, extended periods will irritate or dry out your eyes.What is the best way to prevent water from getting into your nose?

It's an 'iffy' proposition. You can, and you might get away with it, but you might also lose a contact. The pool people will probably be able to fish it out of the drainage filter for you, but as a myopic competitive swimmer, I've found that prescription goggles work much, much better. with goggles it should be no problem. just be carefull not to forget you have them on. I once jumped on the ocean and realized only after I lifted my head from the water that my glassed had been on my face before I jumped.people say wear goggles but goggles look retarded
i have 2 weeklies and i wear them in the pool all the time. i dont open my eyes under the water though, because the commeners pool i go to is 50 percent chlorine. but i take them out after for a bit.

its best that you dont but if you want to wear googles, make sure no water can get through themi wouldn't because it's not good for the contacts. I would wear googles, and maybe if you want to wear your contacts just wear googles over your eyes to protect water form getting into your contacts.

no they wont fall out thell kill ur eyez it depends on the kind of contacts u have but i recommned u to take them off or wear googles and make sure NO WATER enters ur eyez or ur googles dont take the riski do wear my contacts while swimming both in the sea and in pool. most of the time i wear googles (pool) or mask(sea) or i would not be able to enjoy my snorkeling activities, but i make sure that i take extra care opening my eyes when i am not wearing googles or mask.
