It's never too late to learn. If you have a fear of water, start out slow by playing in a wading pool or somewhere there is no pressure. Once you get comfortable, then you can learn how to swim. How do you get energy for doing laps in the pool?

It is never too late. Many places have adult classes and one on one and if you do learn to swim, it may take some time, but knowing that you can do something to save yourself in the water should you ever need to, will help you with your fear. well 20 is a little late to know how to swim cuz 90% of people learn at like 5 or 6 ... even 3-4 years old! But if ou really want to learn to swim then go ahead, if this is a random question and u already know how and dont really care... then i think 20's r way too late. if u seriously dont know how then go early in the morning when no ones there ( if its a public pool) dont want to make a fool out of yourself and get made fun of by little kids right?Estimate of Swimming Pool care for a Fitness Club?
I would have to say the lastest age to learn is about the day you die from old age. Swimming is not like languages, its just as easy to learn at 40 as it is at 4, now get out there and have some fun!Which scuba diving school is better?

What swimmer made his species famous in 2003?
Yes, you can learn to swim. I have taught adults of all ages! It is harder for adults to psychologically let go of their fears than kids, which is why many adults give up. You really do have to let go of the fear to swim because fear causes tense muscles and tense muscles sink. The key is relaxation.I would recommend that you talk to your local YMCA about private swimming lessons. Make sure the instructor has experience teaching adults.
If you want to begin getting comfortable on your own, try going into water that is about chest deep where you can stand comfortably. Then work on lifting your legs and floating for a second. As you get more comfortable, try getting horizontal in the water. But your best bet would be a swim instructor who can be there for you to help calm you and encourage you. You can do it! Good luck!

My mother was in her 70's when she learned to get over the fear of water. As long as you are breathing, you are not too old. Check with the Y in your town if they have one and ask about a chickens class for swimming. If all else fails, get someone that will be patient with you that you can trust and have them help you. first put your face in the water, very shallow water like in a bathtub. Then move out to deeper water and do it some more. Fianlly, have your friend help with letting you get your feet off the bottom and then go step by step to get rid of those fears. If nothing else, contact me and you can come on over and I will work with you on it. I guarantee my work as I taught many that have been scared to death to even put their face in the water and now they are like fish. Good luck.u can learn to swim at any time and if u have a fear of the water, try to get use to the water have someone close ( a good friend or something ) there with u and it might help if they weren't and could swim or u guys can try to get over ur fear together how ever u want to do it, ur choice! and see if this helps u alright but I doesn't help to keep ur fear forever, my ? is do u like swimin or but if u dont I would try to like water first before u try to learn to swim, just a tip...lol
What should i expect from being Padi certified?
Swimming has no particular age of learning..you can learn to swim well at any age,pal :) ,plus swimming is a very important sport because when swimming, you practically move every muscle in your body. Hence, it helps your body stay in shape and be strong ;-)you only have to know one thing, dear...it is never too late for anythin'! so if you wanna learn somethin', go and experience it before you get 80 years old or somethin and unable to move a muscle.
About fearing water, there is that quote if u know it, that says " If you fear somethin', you gotta face it." because simply no one will face it for you.Hence, please try to forget your fears and illusions of water. We never heard of water hurtin' anyone, have we?
