Does anyone know of a good swimming hole in stockton, ca with sand that I can drive to?

Do you think about The Great White Shark while swimming in the sea?

There is no swimming hole in Stockton that I know of. I should know, I live here. However, the nearest thing to one would be Caswell Memorial Park just south of Manteca. It takes 10 minutes to reach the park from 99, but it does contain a beach, with sand along the river, and day use camp sites. There is no lifeguard but park rangers patrol the area in jeeps. There are some shallow areas along the shore for swimming. The water is brownish looking, and this year it was very high due to the flooding which took place but it has returned to normal levels. The area is very lush and green, and isolated and contains one of the last riparian areas in the valley. Day use fee required. Bring mosquito repellant. If you go during the week (not weekend) you may find yourself completely alone. Be aware the area is very isolated.

To reach Caswell Park from Stockton, head south on 99 and take the Jack Tone Road exit just south of 120 interchange. Follow the signs to the park.
