I'm gonna be swimming three hours everyday, but is that sufficient?
Question:I'm no more than 55kg at 155cm. I'm 17. I have minor joint problems, though I still can jog, run & do everything you can do.. just that it might hurt a bit later.
I'm trying to lose the extra overall body fat and tone up, especially around the butt and thighs to fit into.. smaller pants!! I'm between a uk size 10-12. I want to be around a uk size 8-10.
Questions:
1. Is swimming an effective way to slim down overall body fat and tone up at the same time?
(I'm only able to do backstrokes and frog style with my head above water due to sinus)
2. Is there anything else I can do to improve my workouts?
3. I don't do warm ups, what sort of warm ups should I do before I swim? What about warming down?
5. Would three hours be enough? I can swim for long periods of time (5-6 hours) almost non-stop with a half a minute breathing break every lap. (sinus)
6. Slimmer arms, Smaller butt & thighs, Smaller waist with minimal muscles, Smaller breasts too, wants to Target back fat, Tone calves

What medal did duncan armstrong win in the 400m freestyle at the 1988 olympics?
swimming works every single muscle in your body. three hours is more than enough. two hours was enough for me to lose significant weight. but also, you have to keep a healthy diet. swimming is also a very low impact sport, so your joints shouldnt pose much of a problem. for warming up and cooling down (as we call it in the us) do a slow 100m breastroke. on my swim team, we do pilates stuff with medballs that really help with core strength.wow you are really light.
1. it is a good way but you have to remember to eat well too.
2. by doing proper warm up and downs you should be OK. i warm up for around 1/2 hour
3. good warm ups include all muscles of your body. you should try:
>face exercises
>bobbing up and down on a seat
>hold your arm out at shoulder height. then with your other arm stretch out to hold your other arm bending at the elbows. then by using pressure move your arm up and down (to around 120°) do this continuously
>do normal exercises like sit ups (i do 1000 a day! no really)
>swim around 20-40 laps
for the warm down do a couple of laps slowly
5. three hours is plenty
6. you can't really get smaller breasts. by exercising you get bigger (for men) but women you can get a little smaller but not much
also for swimming drills ( with or without flippers)
kick your legs slow freestyle. hold you hands together behind your back resting on your bottom. then slowly swim head up. this really helps
if you are starting this 3 hour routine all of a sudden you shouldn't. slowly increase the hours and days you train or else there could be a deadly consequence
Gosh little lady. You should go out for the triathlon. You need to do something about what you put into your body before you can see what the outcome of your swimming out put is going to do. You have to lose the weight before you turn it into muscle. If you want to look slimmer, put yourself on a lowfat diet and lose the weight first, you can swim too, but until you lose the weight, you are going to turn everything into muscle, which I have the feeling you have already done. Don't get a distorted view of yourself because of what the scale reads. You are probably perfect. Muscle always weighs more than fat, so you may think you are heavier than you look. Know what I mean? Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. Take care.
What material do i put under a pool liner?
"Frog style" is called breaststroke.1. Swimming should help you lose weight, and 'tone' up.
2. You could do intervals. (Make each lap faster and faster, and have to start and stop by a certain time.)
3. Warm ups could consist of a 200 in the pool, and a cool down could be a slow, 100.
4. Three hours is enough.
