What human body systems do you use to swimming?
Your local pool should run classes that will enable you to achieve your Bronze award. However, you need to have a Lifeguard/lifesaver Certificate and possibly Emergency Aider certiicate as well.
To get the Lifeguard takes a practical and theory examination and can only be run by certified instructors. Try your local Gym (if they have a pool) they should be able to help.
Why isn't Grant Hackett performing so well at the World Championships?
Most local pools run adult classes. You may need to take a lifeaving class as well.it depends how old you are, I'm 14 and in September my school is running a bronze medallion swimming course for the year 10's so i am going in for that, most swimming pools do do bronze medallion swimming course so your best bet is asking round popular swimming pools in your area and seeing what they do, as far as i know you don't have to have any experience of life guarding before as long as you are a strong swimmer who is competent
Two sources:
Check out your local pool, which should have classes you can attend.
Check with your local life saving society, which runs the bronze medallion (and other levels of awards) and oversees the lifesaving programs.
