Swimming help please no experenace?


ok i need help on how to swim and i am a scared of high and deep water help on relaxing on high and deep water but im not afraid of like the bath or like 4ft pool but like anything above that level of water of to where my feet can't touch the bottom of the pool i'm afraid of im really short!HELP

get lessons at the ymca, if you pay extra you can get private lessons if that is a factor. i didn't learn til i was 16 yrs. old, no big deal!

Learn how to relax in the water with a floatie like a rubber inflatable thing for you to float with. Learn to kick your legs to propel yourself. Then learn how to float on your back in the water. Relax and just try to push your whole body to lay on your back on top of the water. When you learn also to just tread water you will feel safer too as this is a life saving technique.

look start off in a pool 4ft deep practices the motion of arms going forward and legs kicking the deal is you breath -in between kicks, go to a safe pool and practice you can do it trust me

Any pre physical condition to become a good swimmer?

I would probably start by getting in at the deep end and swimming near the edge all around the deep area. If you get nervous you can grab onto the side. Take your time. Eventually, get the courage up to swim from one side of the deep end to the other. Make sure someone is with you. Have them swim with you. It may be more comfortable that way. You'll be swimming like a fish in no time :)

Is swimming a good workout??

Ask someone trained to swim show you how otherwise don't chance it especially if you are scared. Because if you get in over your head and panic chances of you remembering any advice given here is slim. Always swim with someone else anyway if you are going to be in deep water. That's the best advice I can give!

You may try following the simple steps :
- Hold on to wall of the pool, Kick back both your legs, Feel your leg float. You may even try putting your face under water and try to open your eyes inside water
- Once you think you can let your legs float for a few seconds, try to push the wall with your hands while floating. You should be able to float on water for a few seconds with your arms stretched in the front. Hold your breath and keep your eyes open inside water. You should be able to float for a few seconds relaxing your muscles.
- Once you can float, you pretty much got the balance. Now try
to flap your legs with the hands still stretched in the front. See if you can move.
- If you feel that you can move for a couple feet this way, now try pushing the water with both hands alternating. Arms should move in anticlockwise direction.
- Once you can manuvre this way, you can try to blow all the air out while inside water and lift the face up to get a quick breath of air. You will drink water a couple times trying it.

This is just basics. To try this in a deep end where you may drown, please contact a professional.

Learn to swim?

It doesn't matter how tall or short you are, in order to swim. My college friend was only 148cm and she was the fastest swimmer in my college team! Firstly, get a good swimming teacher, and learn slowly, from the shallow end of the pool. Secondly, be patient with yourself. Takes time to learn the breathing techniques. Thirdly, practise, practise, practise. You go girl! :) All ze best.

How do you COMpletely REmove the Pool Chlorine?

people fear the water because they think that they will drown and cannot come up again. To beat this natural fear do this:
near the edge of a swimming pool fill up your lungs with air and hold your breath, you will eventually float even if u r not holding something. This way u will learn subconsciously that full lungs keeps me from drowning. Now start swimming by moving your hands and legs under the water so u don't disturb your self and keep your lungs full, go as far as u can go, and congrats you r swimming. ;)

Well, I wouldn't go in the deep end of the water like 8ft or something. . . . .stay in like 5ft where you can kinda reach the bottom (or I don't know about you, but 5ft works fine for me). Or join a swim team where they can encourage your swimming skills, or just wear a life jacket if you go to the lake or something.. . . .
