Dry ice doesn't melt, it sublimes directly to C02 gas. So you can't swim in it (it would be very cold if you could) and anyway you would most probably die asphyxiated.What's wrong with water?

I think dry ice or frozen carbon dioxide has a very brief liquid phase, which is why you normally see it as a thick, white bubbling steam when you put it in water (for special effects, etc).
I suppose you could swim in liquid dry ice, but since its liquid phase is maintained at a very low temperature, you would likely freeze your body parts off before you took even one stroke!
