I am a lifeguard in Rochester MN and we need to dive down to 16 ft and retrieve a brick. There are two ways you could do this. Since 9 ft isn't that far down you could go feet first til you reach the bottom then reach down and grab the brick. Or the other way is to go head first. I would reccommend head first because you can see were the brick is. On the way down blow some air out since air rises blowing air out will help you sink. Do not blow all of your air out though because you will probably freak out and swim for the surface. I would reccommend blowing about half of your air out. Then use the whip kick to get down and move your arms. If you have goggles they really help out a lot. I would reccommend getting some goggles. Then once you reach the bottom kick off the bottom a hard as you can, that brick weighs quite a bit so you need to get a good push off the bottom.I am a swim instructor, i was on the diving team and i am a lifeguard. fyi
u only go down like 3 feet cause ur like 5 feet and ur arms add a foot.
Can you get itchy skin by swimming 6 hours straight in a chloride swimming pool?
start upright treading water. then push your head forward and follow with your hips and feet. Once your hips are above your head, you can do a pull with your arms and start kicking with your feet. wear googles and look for the brick. when you get to the bottom, put your feet on the ground, push off, and kick like hell until you break the surface.or you could go feet first.
treading water, make one big kick upward with your arms down by your sides. when you get under water a little, push the water up with your hands straight out until you are stretched out. then just chill, blow out a little air, and wait until your feet hit the bottom. bend over, pick up the brick, push off of the bottom, and kick like hell.
