Should I go to swimming?
I am slightly sick w/ a cold. (Recovering actually) I feel better but I'm still not 100 %. It is a 2 1/2 hour, intense practice and I have a swim meet coming in 3 weeks in which I am swimming the 800 meter freestyle so I kinda need to stay in shape. What should I do??

rest now and make the meet or practice now and miss it your choice? What kind of doctor note would get me out of swimming in gym class?
you're out of the pool for sure! exercising weakens the body's defenses in the short term. recover before you hit the pool again, and give some thought to those who shares the pools with your cold virus swimming in it...yuck...What is your favorite competitive swimming stroke?
3 weeks is a long time. Do what you think is right. You'll still have time to practice even if you miss todays.Does anyone know any good techniques to trim my backstroke time?
Hi. I do swimming to. Wow. You must be very good if you can swim the 800 meters! the most i can do is the 400 meter freestyle. Well anyway i think if you have a cold and your still recovering you should not go because you don't want to make your cold worse. if you still want to stay in shape you can maybe go for a walk or something. But don't worry there will be tons of more practices to go to. But remember you should also do what you and your body think what you should do.Where can you find famous peoples net worth specifically athletes specifically scottie pippen?
Suck it up! No offense but if you had a cold and didn't show up to my practice I'd tell you to take a hike, you're not even worth keeping around.Go to practice. Tell your coach you are feeling ill. Do what you can do. The exercise will help raise your body temp and get your blood flowing and may even feel good. A cold is a pretty poor reason to ditch practice, especially if you're swimming the 800 in 3 weeks!
Don't get me wrong, there ARE reasons to skip practice. They include vomiting, diarrhea, sinus infections (which need a doctor note!) and injuries crutches (not safe on the pool deck). Otherwise you should be there. Even my injured swimmers come to practice and do dry land or help with timing or do what they can in the weight room or on the track, etc. In fact I have one swimmers who came to practice while she had mono!
Hope you feel better, now get in there and swim!
Is it true that when you swim.?
yes it maintains every activity in ur bod.Yeah you can deffinately swim. You might have to take it easy, and you might get tired faster but just push through it and think positive about it. but i guaruntee if you think about something else practice will go by much faster! I know how you feel iam allergic to chlorine so i feel like i have a cold everytime i get in the water!!!! hope this helps and GOOD LUCK!

wait until you get over the cold. if you go to practice, you could get more sick and then you would miss even MORE practices. good luck at your meet!More Questions & Answers...
