Scholarship Bound - College Swimmers and Coaches?
I have only been swimming for just about a year now and i started as a freshman in highschool. And im hitting times such as .56 - 100 FR, .25 - 50 FR, 1:03 - 100 BK..I would love to get a full-ride scholarship in swimming but I fear that I have had too much of a late-start despite how much I have achieved within a year. If I stay at the rate I am now will I have a chance for full-ride Scholarships?

How much or how long should you be swimming to get a good workout?
if your as good as you say. im a swimmer too and have alot of swimmer friends that are older then me, and they tell me that coaches really only take 3-4yr swimmers. but if you are as good as you say and they like you, then why not.Does anybody have this problem while swimmin?
My younger brother is amazing, has been swimming for years, hit 24.8 as a 13 year old in the free. Went to University of Michigan's swim camp, met with Coach Urbanchek, got some connections, I'm thinking by the time he hits his junior year there will be offers. All I can say is to keep working at it, and win state, and there will be money available.
Is it okay to blow my snot in the pool? Snow always seems to come out when I'm swimming...?
Maybe not full ride, but if you are as good as you say you will get some money! How many swimming pools are there total in the usa?
May I suggest some ways to make you faster that may help in getting your scholarships? Do squat jump repetitions and do other sports like x-country running and basketball to improve your strength. Weight lifting also helps alot. You can choose types of weight training to fit your sport. -Tip, before a race think: 'I am fast.' 'I can do this'. words like: 'Go' and 'pull, pull when your not getting enough pull.' 'strong, strong' on long distance and when you tired. And 'hip, hip' when your not getting enough hip rotation. Getting a fast time is physical but also mental as well.-from, vanessa green. -remember my name, i will be a sports coach later on :)
those are some preety good times for someone who just started swimming. you can if you have natural talent (which you do) and btw UGA has the best swim team for colleges all across the nation.
