There was a gentleman who's name was something like George Chavoor (something like that) and he was a coach for many, many National and Olympic swimmers (second only to "Doc" Councilman" of Indiana State University) and he didn't know how to swim... but could teach anyone to swim and was one of the foremost coaches of the Nation! He coached swimmers like Mark Spitz and another female Olympian... I can't remember her name... drat! He was insanely dedicated to his swimmers... seek someone like this and you've got a good start! But, to become better at swimming, you must dedicate many years to practicing with a very knowlegeable coach and trainer; many, many long hours of long, tiring and exhausting workouts in the water and on land, doing weight exercises religiously to strengthen particular muscles, fanatically foregoing certain foods that would add unnecessary weight and fat, discipline, responsibility and a lot of insane dedication and passion to succeed in the sport plus the fanatical perseverence to continue working out or to work harder when you think you've given it all you have. This applies to any sport.
