My team has quite a problem this year?
This high school season, Im afrain that we are going to be the worst swim team in our conference. Only two people actually made the entire varsity try-out set, one of these ppl was me. The set was 10 x 100 on 1:20. We had to pull up people to varsity that only made 3 or 4. At the same time we have teams that have varsity tryouts with 10 x 100 on 1:10 and everybody makes them all or they dont make varisity. Im actually quite good and made them all along with another fast person on 1:05, but we are really concerned about this year. What to do>

What's the easiest way to learn to swim?
In terms of the team, be a leader. Encourage the other swimmers to train hard in practice, many of them will probably improve a lot over the season. A lot of swimmers are new, and/or out of shape, so you might be suprised at the improvements. Also, make the season fun. Hold pre-meet pasta parties and joke around with each other and try to take the swim season less seriously and have fun with it instead of worrying about how good the team is.For yourself, remember that even though you are on a team, when it comes down to it, swimming is a team sport. It is up to you to swim fast, and the other swimmers can't bring you down (unless you let them bring you down mentally). Train to go personal bests, and to win your evens at your championship meets, so you can have a good season even if you feel like the team might not.
And stay positive. I hope the fact that you asked this question doesn't mean that you are already thinking negatively about the season because of this. A lot of things can change, and how good your team is isn't everything anyway. If you let the idea your team will be bad ruin your attitude, it will ruin your season and slow your improvement.
sounds like their qll wet to me. lol

They'll improve a bit as the season goes on. Just try your best and have fun. My school only has one swim team and we don't have tryouts, anyone that wants to be on the team is. Everyone is on varsity at my school.More Questions & Answers...
