Considering joining the swimming team, suggestions?
I'm going to try out for the swimming team, come spring, and I was wondering if there are any specific exercises I can do to prepare for try outs, besides actually swimming. The work-out equipment I have at home is a treadmil, stair master, stationary bike, bench press, and one of thoose bow-flex type things, with a billion different way to lift weights attached to it. Thanks

Does yur period stop in water?
yay for you! i'm a swimmer, both on a team and the high school team...well... let's see... besides the swimming, you can try conditioning... like building your muscles, lung capacity and such... what you have seems really good. dont overdo it, but if it hurts the next day, keep on doing it anyways (that's how you gain muscle)!
good luck ^^
What do you like doing better: surfing or swimming?
what you have all sounds good!do lots & lots of conditioning... you do a lot of it on a swim team anyway... it's called dryland in swimming though... hehe...
yeah & running is great for endurance which is def needed in swimming & so are weights (strength=speed/great for sprints)
yeah... so just work out as much as you can! be creative! good luck!
you're going to love swimming!
Where can I buy a bathing suit in November?
You should definately join the swim team. i am a member of my club team as well as my school team. it is a great way to stay in shape. To condition.. i normally run about 3 miles a day.How to do a front flip from a diving board?
hey, 100% 2 u 4 wanting 2 join the team! i'm a swimmer myself...there's no better way 2 tone the entire body!my advice : keep jogging, becoz swimming affects u'r buoyancy. do exercises 4 u'r abs, it really helps if u hav strong abs!
and hey, hav fun! u can only b the best if u enjoy what u'r doin!
How can I teach swimming if I can't remember ever learning?
well, its all been said already, so follow what these people have said, but dont get discouraged if youre sore after your first real swim workout, you use some muscles that you never knew that you had and there arnt really any exercises for them... anyway, good luck and have funMore Questions & Answers...
