All athletes (especially swimmers)...?

Question:I am currently doing a lifting program that works like this...I do one set of the max weight for which i can do 15 reps, then drop 10 lbs, max reps, drop 10 lbs max reps untill im pushing almost no weight but feel likes its thousands of pounds.

Is this beneficial...if not, how would i change this to help?

It sounds like its benificial keep trying it and see if you get stronger! And if it isnt working Try starting at a low weight and going to a max weight and try more reps! good luck:)
