How well do you have to play tennis in order to join high school tennis team?

gym is the answer

Need to find and buy Tennis racquet Volkl C-10 Pro X-tended?

well, when i started playing tennis I ran 3 laps around the tennis court before and after I practiced. I also did 15 sit ups, 20 push ups.

Who do u tink is goin 2 win te wimbledon grand slam??

I was just like you:
I:
Ran a mile everyday, and tried to make my time better.
I do a few suicide (excersize where you run back and forth on the court) and then the rest of the time i practice my serves. I try to increase my success rate and speed. Then the rest of the day i play rallying with one of my friends. If they are not available you can try playing with a wall.

Do you think Federer has so much trouble beating Nadal because Nadal is a leffty?

I know a couple of workouts that anybody can do anywhere without weights.

I would suggest working on your endurance, first of all. Start walking or jogging in the morning or in the evening when the air is cool, so you don't sweat a lot and over-exhert youself. I would suggest splitting in in half: doing half of your distance chosen in the morning and doing the other half in the evening. Trust me, your endurance will build little by little, since I used to walk about 2km every morning and night, but right now, I'm able to do twice as much.

Next, work on your footwork. Learn how to position your feet to be ready for the next time the ball comes towards your court. I would suggest learning Split Step to help you out in this area. Practice hitting against a wall, since the wall will give you an average return speed depending on the angle of the shot and on the power of it. If you feel that you want to react faster, get yourself a partner and hit shots against each other.

Work on your muscles. Do stretches. Work your arm and leg muscles. Muscles are very important since you'll mostly rely your game on them. Your front/back dash, your left/right dash, and your techniques will mostly use your entire muscle endurance. Work your muscles so that they get stronger, and once they get stronger, you'll be less likely to receive injuries.

Last but not least, work on your strokes. Pratice with your racquet on a wall. Pratice your volleys, your drop shots, your serves, your smashes, your forehands and your backhands. Devise strategies to work against any tennis strategy/style. If you want to improve your shots and strategies during a game, get a partner, got to the tennis courts, and start hitting.

I would suggest that you do these excersises for as long as possible in order to improve your game. Continue doing these exercises for as long as you have the spirit to play tennis and to reach a goal that will keep you going. Nobody can achieve perfect tennis to the point that it cannot be improved anymore.

I hope this helps since I was a beginner in January, but since then, I've praticed and became a 1.5 level player.

Outdoor Lighted Tennis in Illinois?

Im in a tennis group and we have a fitness coach some of the things we do is...

~we get on the court and do lunges down and back 2 or 3 times
~we do "duck walk" you get in a squating position and walk like duck. It really builds leg muscles. We do this down and back(sometimes more)
~wall sits: 2 minutes

We also have a palates coach
it really builds abs. If you have a YMCA near by, try to take a few of those classes. It helps with balance also.
