Roger Federer will eventually overtake Pete Sampras in Grand Slam tournaments won and total number of weeks ranked at number 1 in the world. And The Fed WILL win the French Open!! How many Grand Slams has Rafa won? Case closed!!

First of all, you don't know that Federer will win Roland Garos. Nadal is clearly much better on clay courts than Federer, so I think he has a better chance of winning it. Ok, Federer beat him last time, but that dosen't mean he will again. Nadal rules clay courts like all spanish players. Federer will have a better chance of winning Wimbledon, though I hope he dosen't and he's beaten by Novak Djokovic, for exemple :) And speaking of how many Grand Slams Federer won, just don't forget he's 6 years older than Nadal! Just wait 5 or 6 more years and you'll see that all the new, young players like Nadal, Djokovic and Murray are much better players than Federer! He's going down! Once he started losing sets and matches, he'll never be unbeatable again. Once Canas and other started breaking down the myth about Federer being unbeatable he started losing his confidence. He lost to Volandri for crying out loud! That speaks for itself!How do you hit a backhand down the line?

But its pretty obvious that rafa will be the next number 1 player when federer retires.well firstly how can u be so sure of yourself? the only way that u can make the statement that roger federer will win the french open is if u can see in the future which is very highly unlikely and secondly how many times has federer beaten nadal on clay?once!and how many times has nadal beaten federer on clay?countless times so in actual fact case re-opened

Federer may be good like Sampras, but like Sampras, he has that bad luck of losing in Roland Garros. He may have won 10 grandslams, but those don't include Roland Garros. Do you know why? Its because of Nadal. Nadal is just 20 yrs old, while Federer is 25- 26 yrs. old. This shows that Nadal can beat Federer. Their record with playing against each other is 7- 4, with Nadal owning Federer. Nadal may have won only 2 grandslams, but both included him beating Federer. Nadal isn't even in his highest peak of greatnesss, while Federer is. In 4- 6 yrs, Nadal and the other young tennis players this year will own Federer.Sure Federer beat Nadal in Hamburg, but thats only one minor victory. Nadal still defeated him on both clay and hardcourt. Thats something incredible.
Federer will not win the French Open. He has too many good clay players that he has to deal with. First and foremost Nadal. If he can beat Nadal (which I doubt for the French Open), then he can beat almost everyone else. Then, he has to deal with Canas. Clay is his best court, and he defeated Federer just on hard. This shows that Canas can definitely beat Federer on clay. Finally, there's Djokavic. He is just like the younger Federer because he is able to mix peoples games up. Federer may have his greatness now and a better record over Djokavic, but Djokavic has one thing that Federer will not have later on: age. Age is a major factor for tennis players. Of course Federer can beat Djokavic now, but in 5- 6 years from now, Federer will just feel like Canas/ Sampras/ Aggasi. He will be old, slower in movement, and slower to react.
Now I have proven to you that Federer can be beaten ant that his greatness now will fade away.

Yes, I do believe Federer will surpass Sampras in most Grand Slam singles championships. He will probably get 15 or 16 Slams when he retires. Federer is the 2nd favorite behind Nadal to win the French Open. People are not questioning Federer's greatness. This is just his worst year as World no.1. Nadal has 2 Slams at age 20. Federer had no Slams when he was 20. He wasn't even in the TOP 5 before 2002. Federer is probably the most dominant player ever but needs to prove he can win the French Open at least once to be considered the greatest. Federer also has never led Switzerland to Davis Cup supremacy. The last 2 years, he hasn't really cared about the Davis Cup. Federer needs to play for his country to be considered great. Federer will definitely be in the Hall of Fame. He is great. By the way, Federer hasn't gotten a medal in the Olympics unlike some greats. Sori I don't think Federer is the greatest but how can u consider him the greatest without accomplishing this things which matter more than the Slams. These things being: The priceless Olympic Medal and the love of the country which gets any great player the Davis Cup trophy.
