In countries like India is it great to get a player like sania mirza?
Asking here is a good start! Join the USTA and enter Tournaments. It's fairly cheap and you learn a lot by both playing in them and watching. If the other guys on the team are practicing 1 to 2 hrs a day you need to practice 1.5 to 2.5 hrs a day OR better yet practice smarter with more concentration (don't just get a bunch of balls and hit a bunch of serves but rather get a bunch of balls and practice each serve like it was match point) .
Get in better shape, really work out hard . Get stronger and quicker. Do some very aggressive footwork drills.
Watch the tennis channel for tips. Find books or search the Internet for tips and strategies...master the fundamentals of the game. placement then depth and last is power. Learn your strengths and work on them the most.
Maybe ask another question by describing your game a little and the guy who is #1 on the JV and see what people can tell you about beating his style of play.
Keep asking... keep playing and don't be afraid to tell the Varsity coach you want to make the team and could he help you get some practice with one or two of the Varsity players. Also ask a friend or family member, if they don't play tennis, to just throw balls for you to your forehand to practice cross court shots maybe 10-15 minutes.
Good luck and good hitting!
Hitting forehand groundstrokes in tennis?
without a coach, grab a friend and practice or grab a teammate more or so a varsity player and just playWhich is the official ball suppliers at Wimbledon?
play better players. Singles preferably. The only way you can get W/O a coach is to teach yourself as you play the better player. Practice serving, not only velocity but placement, don't let your opponent anticipate. It's fun to play your friends that aren't into tennis but I think that stunts progress. Also, pay ten$ and get an instructional video, they teach a-lot about tennis that I was unaware of.More Questions & Answers...
