How do you use slice and what's the correct and most effective way to use slice during game play?

Whenever I try to use slice I either hit the ball with my frame, skim the ball too lightly and it doesn't go anywhere, or I hit the ball in random locations. I would like to know how to use slice the correct way for both my forehands and backhands.

Didnt that suck how they delayed the agassi and nadal match?

When you slice, you need your racquet head in front of your body. If you bring your racquet face behind your body you'd slice the ball to high/long. Usually, your racquet face should be going toward the direction where you'd like to slice.

On average club level, a slice can be effective b/c most club players don't bent their knees correctly when they try to return a slice. On pro levers, a slice is mostly used on approching shots on a short ball or a defensive shot.

The key to hit a slice is to keep the ball away from your body instead of hitting the ball near your body. Also, your racquet face has to be in front of your body in order to return the hard groundstrokes from your opponent.

Is ATP world ranking the sole criteria for deciding at which place the player will be seeded in an Open?

The slice is effective in game play when you are on the defense. It creates top spin which makes the ball unpredictable and allows you more time to reposition yourself.
It takes practice to produce good slices, but the way I see it is you have to use a fluid motion in which you are not spanking the ball but rolling it with the racket.

Who would you consider the best tennis player of all time?

Slice is made when you move the racket up or down during the point the racket is hitting the ball. The slice is a axis spin. When you are using forehand and going to use slice then you move your racket down. And when hitting with a backhand you move up. You usually use slice in the middle court.

Miami Open..make yr prediction..who will win ??

You usually use slice on the defense to get back into the point. the slice creates UNDERSPIN which stays low on the court creation problems for the opponent. You can also use it on a short ball for offense and come to the net because it will stay low and will be hard for your oppenent to pass you. Lastly, use it for a drop shot because the underspin on the ball will bring it back to the net making it harder for you opponent to run up and get it

Do you hit the tennis ball when it is at thigh level?

Slice makes BACKSPIN, which makes the ball float in the air long and can mess up the other players timing. And if used as a drop shot it can even bounce back over onto your side of the net (which can be a good thing).

To do it use a more continetal grip, or so that when the racquet is in your hand is between 90º and -45º (or 135º). then use some forward motion ito the ball with ho High to Low motion.

It is pretty much the opposite of a Topsipn shot and can be used for offence or defence

Is Rafa Nadal the highest ranked #2 in history with 5225 or have there been #2 with higher points?

When you go to hit the slice you have to make sure that your racket face is slightly open. Then you step into the pall. Don't swing down, that will just make it go into the net. Then after you get that, you can mix it up and fool your opponent. Don't forget to keep your arm and wrist at a 90 degree angle at the contact point.
