How good is 'really good'?
Depends on so many factors: your athletic ability, your coach, your determination, your talent, your self-discipline, etc.
As a teaching professional, I am able to get most complete beginner rallying balls baseline to baseline in the first half hour. Thereafter, it is just automising the swing and making them more powerful. Tennis is a simple sport: the ball weighs only a few ounces and the court is very big, so in theory, it is not brain surgery. But realise that it takes years and years of concerted practise to make a backhand into an excellent backhand.

Which pair holds the world record for most wins in Davis Cup doubles?

well im a first year and i got 4th in district.. just practice hard and listen and take in what your coach is telling you. your coach will help you with what ever.. another thing to do is to go to a tennis camp which is like 50-100 dollars. but if me and my team got 1st in district...if you work really hard you can be a a decent tennis player in like 3 months and other wise if you dont put all your time in it probably a really really long time.

Has anyone played dakete (quickfire version of tennis)?

As with anything, the amount of time will vary depending upon things such as:
1) the person's natural athletic ability
2) the amount of time devoted to practicing
3) whether or not they have coach or mentor (who actually knows the game)
4) the equipment used

Can Federer be the 6th player to win all four Grand Slams?

Depends on how much practice time you get, and how good your opponents are. My first summer of playing, I played with mostly advanced players so I was constantly getting pounded. My skills developed quickly and by the end of summer I was actually scoring points and making shots, while still not winning. Early fall, I got into playing with another group of players that were novice to beginners and they thought I was the best player they had ever seen. It's all about who you're playing. I still consider myself a beginner.

Am I wrong by destroying a 'skatepark'?

comon ask a betta question it takes u as much time as u wanted to, u just gotta pratice but i would estimate 3 months to a year depending on how well u work at it just like so many other things.

Liking Guy Tennis Coach?

About 2 to 3 years, there is a lot to learn. Its like asking how long does it take to be a good chess player, there is a lot more to the game than just knowing how the pieces move. Same with tennis, knowing how to counter differetn styles of play, identifying weaknesses in your opponent, being able to exploit those weaknesses, being able to make adjustments when an opponent is playing well. Shot selection, footwork, strategy, conditioning, mental toughness...all of those are required to become just a pretty good tennis player. It takes several more years to become good. However if you are asking how long it takes to become pretty good as a recreational player practicing 3 times a week, (Being able to sustain rallies consistently) I would say about 1 year.

Why is there fuzz in a tennis ball?

The first time I went out I kept hitting the ball over the fence! I watched a lot of Tennis coverage on TV then learned a little in Gym class. I would say it took about two years to really get a good handle on it. That is without real lessons or a real coach, just a week in gym class then on my own.

Serena's Ranking?

Depends on a lot of things like availability of money, age, strength, athleticism, coaches, and how much time a week you can devote to playing.

All things permitting I'd say about a year or two you should be doing very well.

My coach...always veery nice and funny, but today...?

Well it depends of the player how strong is he trying and it can play well if he plays 2 hours average every day in about 6 months.

Does tennis get boring after an while?

Where to learn how to play tennis in Manila, Philippines?

You really need to better define the term "Really Good".

To become a world class player by the age of 18, you not only need to be extremely well-coordinated, but you also need to begin taking the highest level of private tennis instruction at the age of 6.

You also need to practice several hours every single day, and find hitting partners that are highly ranked.

In other words, this just isn't very easy, and your chances of becoming a "really good" world-class tennis player are incredibly poor.

So, if you're not all that well-coordinated, and haven't been taking expensive tennis lessons from the age of 6 from the best tennis instructors in the world, then I'd strongly advise you to concentrate on studying hard in school, learning as much as possible, and attend a great college. By getting good grades, you'll get a good job, earn good pay, and live a good life.

In the meantime, continue playing tennis. It's a great sport. If you're serious about improving, and you don't have enough money for professional lessons, either buy instructional tennis books, or borrow them from a library.

A word of caution, though. Don't believe everything you read in a book, especially a tennis book. Instead, think deeply about the advice you read or get, and try to determine yourself whether it all makes sense.

Then, go out on a tennis court and hit, hit, hit, but do it intelligently. Try different things and see what works. Avoid playing nothing but matches. Instead, hit often. Hitting with one ball and 3 or 4 people on the court allows you time between shots to make changes and think about things.

This is the surest and quickest road to success.
