Tennis - When you play tennis how many out of 10 forehands shots will go in.?
one thing that always helps in tennis is concentration. concentration on the game itself and concentration on the ball. after all, you have control of where the ball goes most of the time. try to work harder on your lobs, your serves, your forehands and your backhands, as well as keep yourself fit by exercising every day to be able to keep up with the game. remember to listen to the feedback by your instructor and fit room for criticism. and the more practise you get in playing games, the better and the easier it will get. remember, the professionals fit in time for training long hours everyday to become what they are today. keep yourself motivated. the more you want to improve your games, the better it is for you and the more you can use that to concentrate on what you have to do to become a better tennis player.Tennis challenges...against pushers?
i know how yoo feel!Start playing people significantly better than you. Ask one of the varsity boys to play with you and hit cannons at you. A lot of tennis is footwork and reaction time. have someone hit volleys mercilessly at you when you are at the net. Your game with improve.
Who thinks tennis is good and whos youre favourite player?
You may be getting good physically, but 80% of tennis is within the brain. Check out a good book on tennis techniques mentally. I would advise "Winning Ugly".OLD...but great!practice with more people the more exposure= a better player you will learn why later on, based ont he player you are playing adapt to his weaknesses your strategy will develop as soona s you start doing so if you play with someone who has a great all around game but is out of shape, make that person run around the court, good backhand bad forehand pound the forehand etc. also, call up the players on your varsity team if u want to play a higher singles spot the more u get used to their games the better you willd o in tryouts and the better players you will get to face in tryouts

Who is world No. 1 & No. 2 Tennis Ranking?
I was a highly ranked junior, then played college tennis, then taught tennis for a living, then quit and got a real job. Looking back, my best and fastest improvement happened in two periods in my life: 1) during my junior days I joined a private tennis club that had a lot of good junior players. Starting out, I had 5 or 6 players at my level and 5 or 6 players above my level. I got to be friends with all of them and by playing against good players with common goals to achieve in tennis really improved my game. Once I started beating all of them, I had to play players from other clubs. Key is to find players with similar goals. My tennis buddies and I really pushed each other to be better. You may want to join a tennis camp for competitive tennis players. 2) when my body became stronger. When I became about 19 years of age, I finally got used to my body (I wasn't growing anymore) and became physically stronger. But since you're 14, and need to get better ASAP, I would recommend some strength training - it will really help. You need to play each point at a time. Dont try and think ahead or on the next point. Remember that no matter what the score is you have to play each point at a time.
Also play people better than you. Try and mix things up when you play. If you find someone powering you off the court than remember to slow down the game and give your opponent no pace to hit harder.
Also remember to hit a couple of deep ballas and then some short in a rally. Keep your opponent guessing. It has always worked for me. Also work hard on your backhand and second serve coz these are the 2 weakest parts of a persons game.
Sounds to me like you have mastered technique, now the most important thing is shot selection. you need to decide how hard?how much spin the ball? where to hit the ball? and which shot to hit? (slice,l fla,t high top spin, mixes). This is something you should discuss with your coach, and decide which strategies suit your game best. I would also say try to play at least 5 matches every week. match practice is invaluable. As for hitting the ball hard, don't worry about how hard you hit the ball. make sure you have perfected your technique and as you work on your strength and get stronger due to puberty. you will be able to hit much harder.
Also identify weaknesses in your game. set goals. work towards them. when you achieve reasess and set new goals.
Believe in yourself and you can do anything. Reach for the stars!!
Best of luck:-D
Do you remember a time when the state of American professional tennis has looked so dismal?
I assume that you have solid strokes already - but get your instructor to work on drills to get you moving better in all the areas of the court, develop your second serve so isnt a weakness, and develop a weapon - usually your forehand. Off court, work on your fitness (tip - cycle, swim, ski etc but don't jog too much), strength (tip - with light weights) and speed (tip - do uphill sprints). In tennis, you have to have a game plan when you get on court a)will you retrieve everything until your opponent misses - defensive tennis or b) play safe tennis until u can attack with your weapon? c) play aggressive tennis by approaching the net with every short ball? Make sure you approach each match with a plan in mind but of course, make sure to execute plan B if things arent working. Good luck!
The only way to get better is practice all the time. Play against different people so as to get a different variety of game play. I'm 37 and I'm certain you couldn't handle my serve. Not only will I have you guessing where I'm going, either down the middle or off to the side, but I'd say I have a 200 mile per hour service. Actually I don't know how fast it is, but I know you couldn't catch it. Play players that are more advanced than you.
