Is it a necessity to take tennis lessons for beginners?

Answers:

Does anyone know the middle names of Roger Federer and Pete Sampras?

Yes! Tennis is one of those sports that can only be mastered through taking lessons. For example, You need to know the specifics on how to hit a groundstroke so that it could go over the net on a consistent basis, or volley so that it goes exactly where you want it to go. It is very much like golf, where doing things the "right way" is very important in improving your game.

But of course, lessons can be very expensive and good coaches may be rare. And if you believe in simply having fun and playing tennis to improve your health. Lessons aren't really necessary.

I dont really get out , how can i get involved with sports like tennis?

I wouldn't say that it is a neccessity to take lessons for a beginner, but I would say that it's advisable. You learn the basics of the shots and techniques in the lessons. They also help you improve yourself with the help of a coach. But if you want, you can teach yourself, like I did. Just go surfing on the net or go to the library and check out a book with tennis techniques in them. I've already progressed half-way through the book (Human Kinetics- Tennis:Steps to Success) and so far, if I'm even stuck in one place, I just go see more ressources.

I hope this helps you decide wether you want to take lessons or not.

What do u think of Justine Henin as person? Should she handle herself better on the court?

No, not if your doing it for recreation. But it may help if you played with a somewhat expirenced player, who could give you some pointers. But just knowing the rules should be enough. And you can get those off the net(internet that is).

How much should a Yonex Carbonex 06 Badminton Racket cost (with original carrier-bag) ?

Should we English be supporting Andy Murray at Wimbledon?

No it is not neccesarry. I didn't start playing tennis until I was sophmore in high school. I never got any lessons and my senior year I was the #1 player on the team. Only then did I get a few group lessons with about 20 other people and was a complete waste of money. Now I am playing for a college on a scholarship. I did have a highschool coach to at least show me a little bit. I think a coach would definitly help though. You have to remember though, a coach doesn't make a player good, you have to practice, practice, practice and practice some more. Thats what I did and that is how I got better. I was playing friends neighbors, anybody who wanted to play almost 5 days a week the wholeyear.

What is the average salay of a tennis balll runner?

my school is small, so everyone can be in a JV team if they want to. last year i joined it and it was my first time playing tennis ever in my life. i learned a lot during that season, and over the summer i went to NIKE tennis camp, where i polished everything. this year i tried out for varsity- i didn't make it, but i'm still captain and #1 singles player on my JV team!

you dont need private lessons, just practice and a little instruction. i would say join a beginners team.

Tennis Question?

Not really... just have someone that knows how to play teach you the correct form for the groundstrokes and etc. then just practice at home. VITAL that you know the correct form and how to hit the ball correctly so that you don't get into the habit of practicing wrong which messes up your game.
