You should always gear up the night before with some carbs. Pasta is great because the carbs store energy in your body and the next day it keeps you going.A good night sleep is key. A healthy breakfast, maybe pancakes with syrup and eggs. Again, carbs and eggs for protein- but you also have the syrup which lines your stomach and gives you a big boost of energy.
During the match, pull the Nadal and have a banana- good complex carbs and potassium. Also, take some honey- it is an excellent energy booster and does not burn out like sugars. Since it is natural, you get a more refreshing energy burst than say candy.

Make sure you eat light. Have your last big meal at least 5 or 6 hours before you play. Potassium, is the key, to fight of muscle cramps . sometimes you even see the Pro players eating bananas during long matches. on the Court fight cramping. You want obviously bring water, but also a drink that can replace all the electrolytes and minerals that you sweat out. Be careful of Gator Aide , some of the flavors have to much sugar. I do not know if there is a Whole Foods around you, that is the big health food chain in the TRI Sate area, they have some great sport drinks high in minerals and electrolytes to avoid sugar crashes during your match. They are all over NY where , I am sure your area had dome similar types health Ford store,As far as your main meal goes , protein Chicken or some white meat or steak a some veggies for minerals and potassium , Stay away away from the carbs, definite dough nuts cakes,and such, Crabs Carbs down into sugar which you do not want happening. so you have a crash during a long tough match.
After , Potassium again and make sure you hydrate as much as possible, You do that you will be in good shape. The real problem as a junior is when you have to play two matches in one hour period, eat fruit , Again stick with bananas and Blueberries, lots of water, no soda. I hope this helps. Good luck.
