He wanted to give it his all. He didn't want to be a quitting loser I guess. I don't want say it but he couldn't keep up with those young guys. He would of never beat Roger Federer if he made it to the finals! He was pleased with his performance so I am too. I wish he would of made it all the way though. He struggled with his back pain but he tried his best and didn't quit!I love Andre and will miss him. Tennis will never be the same, loser or not he's still my greatest!

No way, just because he didn't reach the finals doesn't make him a loser. Looking back at his career only makes him one of the greatest players ever both on and off the court.Plus considering his circumstances of age, and the pain he was in with his back he did really well to get that far, better than some players.
It took a lot of guts to do what he did, proving that he can still fight with those spring chickens :)
I don't think people will remember him for his final position on the board, but for his contribution to tennis, society and the grand slams he's won in his 21 years.

i think u r right if for example Agassi retired last year in the us open reaching the finals and that would be a good timing especially with his good rankings but i guess he thought he still had it in him for a couple yearsand if even if agassi did lose even in the 1 round of the us open agassi will never be a loser
