Do any tour tennis players have college degrees?

Are there any? If not, which players have at least attended college?

Answers:

Tennis is one of those sports where good players are good really young. Women players, in particular, get good at such a young age (e.g., Steffi Graf turned pro at 14). Men tend to mature later, so they don't get nearly as good, but several top players were playing at 15, and got to the top rankings by 17. These tend to prevent many players from going to college.

However, some players have at least gone to college if not received their degrees. John McEnroe spent a year at Stanford, and Connors, I believe went for about two years at UCLA. Other players to have at least attended college are Malivai Washington, Todd Martin, Mikael Pernfors (two time winner of the NCAA men's title).

Basically, if you're good enough to play tennis, then the demands of international play make it difficult to complete a four year degree.

Not sure who has completed college but James Blake attended Harvard and says he plans to go back once his tennis carreer is over.

EM is right, but i highly doubt he'll be going back. his career will be over at around 35 lets just say, and at that time, he'll be long past his college years.

I beleive the Bryans graduated Stanford before joining the tour. I don't think any of the women have degrees just because women have to turn pro at a much younger age than the men.
