What does it mean if your tennis racket is "shanky"?
Answers:
Why do tennis have a strange scoring system?
the word "shanky" in tennis refers to where you hit the ball on your racquet which usually causes you to either hit the ball high up or way out of bounds. it occurs when you hit the side of the racquet causing you to hear the "shank." another funny term is "hammer time."www.fanfestconvention.com
Does anyone know where I can find PIAA Highschool Tennis Team Rankings?
Umm... usually the term shank refers to you miss hiting the ball and the ball flies high up in the air... So my best guess is that the racquet is shanky because it causes a lot of those shanks?this means that u hit the bal in the inner frame of the racket rather than on the strings. a shanky racket generally has a smaller head. watch fededer and somtimes you;ll see him shank the ball due to the rakcet head being too small!
