well, she is a great player but her grunting always puts me off watching her. YEs I think that she and her father are arrogant, she cheats with her grunting and on court coaching, but there is no need to worry myself about it because it doesn't directly effect you. the way I see it is don't waste your time being bothered about it.Maria is hot... love to see her sweat.. who cares that her tennis isnt the best, she has the heart to fight and win and not just give up like the rest of the players.
I agree completely..i love tennis and have been a advid player since i was around 7...i do have to give her credit for being good...its just i dont think shes as good as they try to make her out to be...and sure shes cute but shes no anna...i think her publicity is starting to over shadow her actuall ability.i like her skills but hate her attitude...shes snobby..and so is her father...she doesnt expect to lose and when she does seh acts as if its impossible...it seems she has yet to realize she has a long way to go before she can be delcared the best...i mean sure she was the best when BOTH venus and serena were gone but she got her butt beat once they came back..shes not as good as they make her out to be..thats all im saying

As a player, she has been pretty consistent and certainly has the ability to win lots of more grand slams. Even at 19, she has over $ 8 million career prize money, over 15 titles and 2 grand slams to her name.As per her personality, whatever you say, I don't think she's that mean (her dad's a crook though). She does always give credit to her opponents. And I don't think she looks arrogant!! C'mon, she's just 19 and winning big matches at teenage will certainly make you over excited!!
As per her looks, a complete let-down. With her giant height, she may have to do with a date palm for her husband. She also has broad masculine shoulders and her walk isn't straight. As per her looks, you can find much prettier -ova girls in Russia, I think it is a land of beatiful -ovas.
And yes, the hype about her is a bit irritating. She's a good player, but certainly far from great.

She used to sleep with him since the age of 16.As far as her looks, yes she has a pretty face, but she is huge to be considered a woman. As her character: She is considered the sluttiest girl in tennis(slept with many players), mean, self-centered, arrogant, annoying, cheater if she starts to lose & begins to use her bag of tricks like screaming louded, claims injury or toielt breaks to regroup & rethink. I remember the incident last year against Peer when Peer was serving ,Sharapova raised her arm as if she is not ready to recieve & lied to the chair umpire that she didn't(we all saw she did, even on replay) & was awarded a crushal point. She is crazy about money as she said to the media last year to show her the money. Also she never says anything nice about other players. Always talks about how great she is, how strong, how so & so. She doesn't know the meaning of modesty. She is high on herself thinking she is the prettiest woman on earth & the best tennis player ever.All these reasons made me not to like her. At the beginning, i liked her cuz i heard how & her father suffered coming to America from Siberia.
