Don't you think that sharapova?
Its probably not your hold on the racket, but your swing. You should be holding the racket at the bottom of the grip and not too tight and not too loose, just a nice firm grip like a handshake. Hold it so that the short side of the grip is poking at the base of your thumb. When you swing backhand, you have to adjust your grip before contact so that the short side of the grip is facing the base of your index finger.Do you think demoing racquets from Tennis Warehouse is safe?
are u retarded?? who doesnot know how to hold a racquet??What do u wear to play tennis?? also im 15?
there are different ways of holding a tennis racquet...it all depends on the effect you want to have on the ball. These are called "grips". The most common is the eastern grip, other common ones are the continental and semi-western. However, for any grip you need to make sure that your palm is at the end of the racquet. Many people believe that you place your hand in the middle of the handle, this is not true, you put it at the end.If your forehands are going out or hitting the net, it is probably when you strike the ball that is the problem. If you hit forehands either too early or too late, they will often go awry. Try making contact with the ball while it is parallel to your body.

In tennis, how do I handle heavy topspin. Does anyone out there beat it consistently?
continental grip might be too far over one way and the ball will go out of the base line. a western grip might be too far over the other way and make the ball go in the net. the most common grip for a forehand is a semi-western which is in the middle of the two. you just need to experiment to find which grip works right for you.More Questions & Answers...
