Tennis scores weird.

This page should teach you pretty easily and quick:

Which women tennis player best figure?

Well here are the basics.
---------------SETS-----------...

Tennis's main scorring system is Sets.

Sets are groups of Games. Games come together to form a set.

If you see 2-3 4-6 1-6 3-5 6-1 that is the outcome of the match. For example in the first set someone scored 2 games and the other person won 3 games.

---------GAMES----------------

A game is a mini match.

The game scorring system is 0 (Love),15,30,40, and sometimes Deuce,Advantage.

To win a game you have to be 2 points or more ahead of the other person.

For example 15-40. Someone scored only 15 points which is actualy 1. But you scored 40 whitch is only 4. so you won that game. Just Because you won that game dosent mean you won the set or the match.

But some times the score will be 40-40. But like I said earlyer you have to be over your opponet by 2 points. So Deuce comes in to play. Deuce is the point before Advantage, the closing point. To win you have to get Advantage. The you have to win Advantage.

---------MATCH-------

This is the biggest one.

Its the entire game you played with the other person through games and sets.

If someone yells match that means its over. Eigther you or you opponet won. You diffine this by who won the most sets.

Hope I helped.

Erm.what is teh full form of ATP and WTA?

It's weird, and it seems like it should be 45, but it goes like this: if player 1 wins the first point it is 15-0, then if they win again it's 30-0, then 40-0. If it is 15-0, and player 2 wins then it's 15-15, then the next point would be either 30-15 or 15-30 depending on who won it. If it was 30-15 and player 1 wins then it's 40-15, then game. If it's 30-15, and player 2 wins, then it's 30-30, and then 40-30. If it becomes 40-40 (also known as deuce) it works like this: If player 1 wins then it's advantage-in, or if player 2 won it it would be advantage-out. Then after advantage-in, if player 2 wins then it's deuce again.

I Need Some Good sites that relate newtons laws to sports ASAP THANKS?

To try and explain it more simply-
For some reason, yes, they do go to 40. Theres probably a story behind why it goes to 40 and not 45, but tennis is a pretty old sport and so is the scoring system.

Also, if both players get to 40, its called "deuce" and a player must win one point to go to "advantage" then another to win the game.

I have a hopper full of used and flat tennis balls but I really want to practice my serves what should I do?

The terms 15 and 30 and so on are just names for the points.
The scoring system works like this.
first point = 15
once you score the second point your score is 30
Afterwards, if you score another point it's 40
If you score a point after that (and your ahead by 2 points or more) you win the game and start over.
If you and your opponent both have 40, it deuce.
after you score a point after deuce, you have what is called an advantage and you just need to score one more point to win the game, if your opponent scores, it's deuce again.
each game you win counts as one (that's when the score's normal, like 1,2,3,...), once you win six games and are ahead by at least 2 games, you win the set, sometimes you have to win 2 out of 3 sets or 3 out of 5 sets to win the match.

Do you think Tennis is less exciting these days!?

Fifteen, thirty and forty are believed to have French roots and might be based on a clock face used on the court.

Once a set begins, each player begins with 0-0 (love all). If player "A" scores the first point, then the score is 15-love (0) and vice versa. If player "A" scores a second point, then he/she leads the set 30-love (again vice versa). Lastly, if player "A" scores the third point, then it is 40-0, meaning that he/she needs only one point to make the set point, 1-love. Forty-five is not needed because one has one the first set point. To win a set, one needs six points and in a tie breaker, one more (seven).

Was there any male tennis player who openly admitted of his homosexuality?

I gave this answer to another guy. I hope it helps.

First of all "love" comes from the french word(s) l'oeuf, which means the egg which means zero (egg and zero being roughly of the same shape!). Love, 15, 30, 40, are used in scoring for each game, each set is up to six games. First to get to six wins the set. Unless there is a tie at 5 all, then the set is up to 7. But at six all, there is the 7 point tie breaker. Matches can be a single set, best of 3 or 5 sets .. All that aside the love, 15, 30 and 40 was conceived a long time ago by early tennis geniuses as a way to differentiate and not create any confusion between game score and set score. Game, Set and Match to mitch_depp!

What part of the Tennis Court is Bigger?

For right now forget about 15, 30, 40. Think 1, 2, 3, & 4.
