What do u think of Justine Henin as person? Should she handle herself better on the court?

Question:Speak about what happended at the French aganist serena
and againist mauresmo at the Australian last year.

Answers:

Is there any website about woman tennis?

I used to really liked her. She plays beautiful tennis and she seemed to be a quiet and reserved person. After what happened in the Australian Open with Amelie, I saw her as the true person she really is a major b i t c h. I can't believe she didn't have the class to at least stand in the court and let Amelie Mauresmo have their moment. That was embarassing, and then in the news conference to act as if nothing had happened and to tell everyone that if she was not sick, she would have won was completely uncalled for. She should learn some manners and sportsmanship before going inside a court and play. Take a page from Andre, and what he did in the last French open he ever played. He kept on playing even when he was in pain. He could have hurt himself badly there, but kept on going for the other player and for himself too.

Service line?

Justine Henin is one of the greatest Champions of the world. Do not forget that she has played all the Finals Grand slams last Year and won two of them Plus The Masters.

Now she has went trough a difficult period again ,she lost her mother when young, her father is an alcoholic, and now she Lost her husband too in a divorce.it is not easy to go trough these and still be a no1 at the age of 24.

She also declared that this might severely affect her career

Now all these suffernigs are to be seen in her game, and i sincerely hope she will manage to return to her Fabulous Game and be no 1 Again

I just Love Justine Henin

Allez Justine!

Does anyone play tennis?

I admit I was not impressed with her at the french. Later though, I realised that you should never give your opponent anything, you should make them work for everything, don't let them have anything for free, take advantage of whatever oppurtunities that present themselves to you. It could be the difference between winning and losing, It is not Serena's problem if Henin is not ready if she is in position. Likewise it is lovely of Serena to be a good sport, but she doesn't have to show Henin any mercy. However at the Australian well, that is a devastating thing, she should be distressed. Apart from those two incidents, I think she has conducted herself brilliantly on court, not showing any emotion, and should be proud of herself!
I also agree with Toothy, that she is the best player in the world.
:-)

What time is the men's final on Sunday?

I don't care much for her sportsmanship.

I think she's a quitter, 1st in the Australian, then in the Fed Cup final. The Fed Cup final especially, since you are playing for your country. Especially since she did not feel bad enough to not serve and volley in the last point before she withdrew. I would expect her to stand on the court and let Flipkens play her heart out to try and win. I just felt sorry for Flipkens, since she had played her heart out, being a sub for the injured superstars in the semis and the finals, only to have Henin walk off the court in the deciding match...

The Australian was a bit tougher spot, because if you stay on the court and noticably tank the match, you would get a similar, but lesser reaction. But you would be showing Amelie some respect by allowing the match to be played to completion, and that would have taken what, an additional 10 minutes?

She's not Mary Pierce, but still not a good sport.

Roger Federer..stamp?

JH almost seems to have a split personality. One can write the scene for the film about the little girl promising her dying maman that she would win the French Open some day without even breathing hard, and much of the rest of her life picks up from there.

The French incident made me think that JH's spiritual home would have been in the early age of professional tennis, when officiating was a bit spottier and a number of players (such as Helga Masthoff, a French finalist/US semifinalist) had reputations for taking calls or positioning themselves to try to blindside linesmen. Meh. JH certainly seemed to show a lot with her incredible performance at the soggy US Open that year. After the incredible Capriati match and then being able to play and win the final less than 24 hours later, she seemed willing to die on the court if necessary.

Then of course we have the year of managing to win the Olympics despite hardly being able to play and the gradual return to major-winning form. And then we have the mixed bag of the Australian final and JH reaching all the major finals for the year. It seems incalculable.

I want to cut JH a bit of slack for being relatively graceless, as she's had the ever-so-perfect Kim Clijsters as a bit of an albatross around her neck her whole tennis life. I'm sure many contemporaries of Chris Evert from the early 1970's can empathize with Justine on this count. There's the story of the two meeting at a junior tournament, barely being able to communicate because of being from differently-tongued parts of Belgium, and Kim learning French.

The Australian final still makes me shake my head. The only way I can reconcile it is that, perhaps for the first time ever, JH just KNEW that there was no way on earth she was ever winning the match. I suppose it's possible that such a thing might actually have made her, at least temporarily, too sick to continue.

I'm not sure how, but I've formed the impression that she has very little sense of history, which is probably what prevents me from being able to like her better.

Do both the male and female players serve in a tennis mixed doubles match?

I had so much respect for her...before the Austrailian open. I will never look at her the same : I
.I mean c'mon, a stomach ache is the cause of quitting in the Austrailian open? pshhh, I don't think so. Like Mauresmo said, "I would of died before I had to quit this match"

Can I bring a poster with a slogan on it like some fans do when they attend football and basketball games?

haha i remember the australian open excuse. i thought that was really weak of her. and not to sound insensitive but i cant really believe that the divorce is the only thing stopping her from playing. there has to be more to it. but then again, maybe she is just sitting at home feeling sorry for herself. shoot... if i was in her shoes, i would use all that pent up emotion to dominate on the court! heck, most players would. look at what mauresmo said about it. look at other players who have gone through horrible things in their personal lives but didnt let that stop them from making a comeback. most players have a lot of passion for the sport. honestly, i think justine has lost her passion for the game and im sorry but i really wont care much if she even decides to come back.
