Head Extreme Microgel Racquet?
Question:I recieved the racquet as a gift and strung it with ALU Big Banger Power Rough tenison 55. Great baseline spin . However volleys are horrendous and have a dead feeling. hard to get volley over the net.
Does any one have experience with this racquet.
Is this racquet horrendous for volleys or is it the string
Should i try a different string like Big banger Power

hahaha matey...i am using the head microgel extreme pro strung with luxilon ace @ 56lbsi agree with you...groundstrokes from the baseline is simply a dream..service is bloody easy...volley is actually most simple...
i dont think its the racket at all...i just rock with this racket at the net...i dont really know how you play..so i will just assume that you are not really used to the racket yet...
i used the wilson k-90 previously (and i still do occassionally) with its 90sqin head volleys were hard to hit...with the m.gel with its 100 sqin head...volleys are like a dream for me to hit...can hardly miss it
my advice to hit a better volley with this racket would be to have a "punching" motion during the volley...you will find it simply great
hit thru the ball...you will find that the m.gel is just great at volleys...the m.gel is very stable and even off center shots will go in...so take one step early forward and hit thru the ball...i assure you, it will go in...

I do not have experience with that racket. But I know that the racket you use has to be according to your game. For example I am a intermediate advance club tennis player, my swing is medium I do not have strong strokes, I need a racket with power and control. Racket's usually have the qualifications for every kind of game or players. loos for those qualifications in the manufacturers explanation of the racket model.Can someone give me a quick rundown on how to score tennis and basic rules?
i have this racket with prince synthetic gut 16 duraflex also at 55lbs. i think the volley is great and its a great all-round racket.my back hand stroke and my serve had a significant difference from my old racket as well. Try different strings.More Questions & Answers...
