How do I politely keep a coworker from joining my tennis group?

I play tennis with a informal group of people. We are all at a similar level of play, which is fairly competitive. Last year a coworker found out that we played and asked to join us. He is very nice, but unfortunately his level of play is worlds away from the rest of us. Whatever team he is on is guaranteed to lose badly. He does not seem deterred by this, but everyone else is. Hoping he will get better is not an option as his rate of improvement is slower than all the other player's rate. "Luckily" his back bothered him and he only played a few times last year. Now that the weather is nice we are planning to start playing again. This person keeps asking if we are going to be playing again, and I don't know how to respond. He would ruin the game and discourage the other players. Advice please.

Any tennis advice for a beginner?

I would suggest you tell him you have enough people in your "good" group but will keep him in mind if somebody can't make it. The group is pretty well set.

Then once in a while, get two other players and invite him on a separate occasion. That way you keep him from the good group yet also let him him know you value him as a person.

Is sania mirza having the ability to win a grand slam??

Tell him the group is getting very big and you all agreed that you would only like to play with the same people for a while.

Or you could just be very straight forward and say we like to play with people who are the same level/better than us, sorry.

I don't know any other ways...good luck.

In doubles tennis which formation covers the most court? one up and one back or both up?

I don't think there is any polite ways. But you can play some more games with him or his team and do your best to bit him badly. I am sure if you give him a few 6-0 6-0 matches he won't play with you or your group anymore. (When playing doubles, hit all the balls to him that will show how bad he is).

But if he is still managing to win a couple of games, that means he is not too bad anyway you should allow him to join your group.

When does high school tennis season start?

Well that is hard. I've been in the same similar situation. The best way to do it is tell him that you all play "league" game to make it kind of official and that you're all partnered with each other. If he decides to join, he needs to look for a partner and play you guys. Beat him enough and he'll quit I'm sure.

Ideas for gifts for a tennis coach?

mention to him that you guys are training for a 7.5 or 8.0 doubles league and that he can round up a group of his own to play on the next court, then just enjoy time after matches.
