I like Mario Ancic, he is a tall player at 6 foot 5, with a pretty big serve. He is very lean and can hit some big groundstokes from both the forehand and backhand sides. His defensive tennis against other big hitters needs some improvement so he can extend the point long enough to either win the point by error or to urn a neutral ball into an offensive shot. Mario will often be overly aggressive against other big hitters on tour. Don't get me wrong, Mario is an extremely talented player and has recently broke the top 10 in the world rankings coming in at Number 9. This is a remarkable feat for any professional tennis player. However if he improves in his defensive tennis, and handles low ball better to stay neutral in rallies and out-works his opponents, he is capable of even improving his ranking a couple spots. His Volley's are good, but they could be even better if he spent a good offseason in the winter months and focused on making the ball slide through the court with a slightly more compact volley. This would allow him to better handle hard hit shots into his body and make his opponents passing shots even more difficult. Remarkable Talent, still has some room for improvement, and he is only 22 years old.
