When playing tennis, what is the best stratagy to win against a tough opponent?

Why are scores 15, 30 and 40 and not 45 in tennis?

I agree with nyyjeterlover02.

1. Force your opponent out of their comfort zone.
The person your most likely playing has a pattern, or a winning formula in which they unknowingly stick to. May be they like baseline-baseline play only. May be they ring around your shot to return the ball only with their power forehand. In cases like this, either draw him toward the net with drop shots, or concentrate your shot to his backhand. In addition, vary your shots with topspins, chops, angle shots, and see how he reacts to them. This all of course is easier said than done, but doable.

2. Know your opponent as well as yourself.
With all due respect, your probably thinking that there is nothing about your game that is wrong. How do you react in a pressure situation game? What will you do when he rushes you at the net all of a sudden? How are you going to counteract any power serves he has? What are your strengths and weaknesses, and how can you capitalize/compensate for it?

3. Feel the center.
Feel the center of your opponent and the tennis court, and feel the balance/imbalance of your opponent. Is your opponent's momentum gaining or losing? How will you respond?

4. Tennis is mental.
Master the mental aspect of tennis, and you'll see your game improve.

What is the difference between a backhand grip and a forehand grip serve?

gradually wear them down by hitting it away from them to make them move, but remember not to hit it ot of bound. And hit a couple of low volleys when they are very far back at the base line.
Good Luck ;)

What are the best shoes for tennis?

Great question but without knowing anything about your opponent, its tough giving you a strategy like 'make your opponent move about' (they might actually like hitting the ball on the run as opposed to stationary . like the Williams sisters) or 'hit it to their backhand as often as possible' (it might turn out that their backhand is their strength, like so many players these days).
No, any advice that centers around the opponent is likely to be unhelpful. Instead, the fundamental strategy at all levels (from beginner to pro level) is the following:
GET THE BALL IN ONE MORE TIME THAN THE OPPONENT. If you can do that, it is literally impossible to loose a match.
Good luck
