Best backhand (tennis) tips?
can anyone provide 2-3 or basic yet key tips to help me develop a good backhand stroke?
Answers:
1. Keep your hips parallel to the long side of the court during the entire swing. In other words, don't twist your hips.
2. Follow through with the racquet.
3. Watch Roger Federer! His one-hander is the best.
For a two-handed backhand:
1. Make sure your arms are extended during the swing.
2. Hit a two-hander like you would a forehand with your non-dominant arm. So, if you're a righty, work on your lefty forehand and when you put your right hand on there, let your left hand do the most work.
3. Start the stroke with your hips parallel to the long side of the court, but unlike the one-hander, twist your hips during the stroke.
4. Follow through with both hands on your racquet.
If all else fails, watch the pros!
